That Committee makes the final decision as to the merit of each grant request and the availability of funds.<br>\r\n<br>\r\nCriteria to be considered will include:<br><br>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>the <strong>seriousness<\/strong> of problem being addressed<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>clarity<\/strong> of the project's goals and objectives<\/li>\r\n \t<li>the <strong>potential<\/strong> for success<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>ability<\/strong> to secure funding from other sources<\/li>\r\n \t<li>board <strong>participation<\/strong> and community <strong>support<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>availability<\/strong> of Foundation funds<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t <\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t <div role=\"tabpanel\" class=\"tab-pane \" id=\"tabs_desc_10637_2\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"TabbedPanelsContent TabbedPanelsContentVisible\">\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Grants are made for charitable purposes to non-profit, tax exempt organizations in Taney County and surrounding regions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The Foundation is interested in grants for \"pilot projects\" that are both needed and have good chances of success.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Grant requests will be encouraged for needed projects, unique in character, which do not duplicate existing services<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Organizations should normally submit only one grant application during a calendar year.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Grants are not usually made for routine operating needs, annual fund raising or endowments.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The Foundation does not make grants to individuals, although assistance ultimately benefits individuals.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Qualified organizations seeking grant support may call and discuss the proposed project prior to submitting a proposal.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t <\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t <div role=\"tabpanel\" class=\"tab-pane \" id=\"tabs_desc_10637_3\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA Proposal Summary Sheet may be <a href=\"https:\/\/hedrickinteractive.net\/slusherfoundation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/slusher_application.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">downloaded<\/a> (pdf) or obtained from the Foundation office. Additionally, the proposal must include the following:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A cover letter signed by the chief officer of the governing board which briefly describes the project.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The background of the organization.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A list of governing Board of Directors.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Current operating budget for organizations.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The concept and objectives of the project.Number of people expected to be served.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The amount of grant requested and itemized breakdown of expenditure.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Benefits to be derived.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Other data supporting project, including amount and other sources of funding.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A copy of most recent 501(c)(3) tax exemption letter from the Internal Revenue Service.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>DEADLINES<br>\r\n<br>\r\nUnsolicited grant proposals will be accepted at any time to be reviewed by the Foundation Manager and presented to the Foundation's Grant Committee on a semi-annual basis. Slusher Foundation grants are concentrated in several broad areas of need:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Poverty and hunger<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Education Scholarships<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Broad national health issues<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Youth camps and programs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Senior citizens programs<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nWithin these general areas, the Foundation seeks to support existing as well as start-up programs that meet needs of disadvantaged youth and their families.
